Today's Scripture: Verse of the Day

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:3 (NKJV)

Daily Devotional: Heart’s True Refuge

Brothers, Have you ever wondered why there is an emptiness in our hearts even though we are in this vast world? Even after everything we have, we still feel a strange emptiness in our heart, as if we do not belong anywhere. While living on this earth, we build houses of our choice, establish relationships with the people of the world, build dreams in our eyes, but still our soul does not find complete peace. Have you ever wondered why that happens? Because the truth is, our hearts are not made for this world. Rather, we are made for another place, for a home where we will never feel emptiness or separation.

The same anxiety was in the hearts of the disciples when the Lord Jesus told them that He was going to leave them. Because they had put everything they had into Jesus, and now as he was going away from them, their hearts were broken. They were scared, confused as to what would happen now. But at that very moment, Jesus gave them a promise that is not just for them, but for all of us. Which we see in John 14:3 where He says, "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also". "Stop and realize this: the Creator who created this vast universe is preparing a place for us somewhere else. This shows that he has not forgotten us. He has not left us, he is just preparing a house for you and me. Therefore, Hebrews 13:14 reminds us: For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come. "We are just travellers here, our real home is just ahead.

But the reality is that life is not easy.  Sometimes we fall apart in relationships, sometimes circumstances overtake us, and sometimes we feel utterly alone.  At such times, our enemy, Satan, tells us the lie: ''You are alone", you have no one here.  But God's Word tells the truth, See what the Lord tells us in Hebrews 13:5, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”  And we can believe this because He is a faithful God and never lies.  Remember the thief hanging on the cross who earnestly pleaded with the Lord: "Remember me when your kingdom comes," and the answer was, "Today you will be with me in paradise."  This is the only reason why all will leave you, but if you call on the Lord even in your last hour, you will find Him standing with you.

Now consider a deeper truth: Jesus did not say, I will give you a beautiful place, but He said: Where I am, there you will be also. This means that our destination is not one place in this vast universe, but a Person who is the Lord Himself. Because real peace, real happiness, real contentment is in the presence of that. Psalm 23:4 assures us, "Though I walk through the valley of deep darkness, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. How can we fear the darkness when the light of heaven and of the world is with us?

Now, brethren, think of the day when all this flight will come to an end, when this world will be left behind, and when we will meet our Lord face to face, as 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 tells us that one day the Lord himself will come, and we will all meet him and be with him forever. It will not be an ordinary moment, but it will be our greatest union, and one for which our souls have always longed. The Bible also tells us what the glory of that house will be like. Which we can see in Revelation 21:4 which says, "And He will wipe away every tear from their eyes". Then there will be no more death, no more mourning, no more crying, no more pain. "Think of the moment when there will be no pain, no sickness, no separation, what a great and happy moment where there will be only peace, love, and the presence of the Lord.

So my dear ones, if today, you are tired, broken, or you feel that no one understands you, hold on to this promise because our Lord of peace and love is preparing a place for me and you. And when he gets it all ready, he'll come pick us up. Friends, we are not made to wander in this world and then die like insects, but we are made for our Father's house. So be strong and have faith. The world may change, people may change, but the promise of the Lord never changes. And yes, remember this, your story is not over yet, the most beautiful part of this story is yet to come.

John 14:3 - Prayer

O my Heavenly Father, who is merciful and keeps His promises, I thank and glorify You for this precious word that You have given me today. I know very well that You are not only a God who makes promises, but also a God who fulfills those promises. Father, my heart fills with gratitude as You have assured me that You are preparing a home for me in Your glorious place.

Father, You know very well how important a home is for every living being, be it an animal, bird, or human. A home is a place where he feels safe, where he finds belonging, and a home where he can live without fear. Father, You know that my heart also keeps searching for this, searching for a place where true peace can be found. But today I also understand that no place in this world is truly safe for me nor can it give me complete peace, because my true home is with you. Thank You, Father, that You have prepared such a home for me, where there will never be any fear, no tears, and no separation.

When I feel alone in this world, when I feel like I have no one, remind me of Your promise that I will never be an orphan. You are with me, and one day You Yourself will come and take me to You. Father, teach me not to consider this world as my final destination, but to live like a traveler with my eyes fixed on my true home, which is You. Strengthen my faith, purify my heart and my thoughts so that I can overcome the temptations of this world and rely on Your Words in every situation. And may I celebrate my last rest in Your presence in the house that You have promised for me because you are not only my God but also my Father, who always desires what is good for me.

I ask this prayer in the name of your beloved Son Jesus. Amen
