Today's Scripture: Verse of the Day
Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 1John 1:3 (NKJV)
Behold the Father’s Agape Love
My dear friends, suppose you are standing alone in a dusty street, your clothes are torn, your heart is broken, and you are feeling completely orphaned and lost, and Suddenly, a royal chariot stops in front of you. He is none other than the ruler of the entire universe and the creator of the stars, and He comes down from that chariot to you. He looks at your wounds and heals you and dusts off all the dust from your body and embraces you in front of the whole world and declares in a loud voice, “This is my own child, this is my heir!” Don't you get goosebumps when you hear this? This is the shocking, incredible, and soul-shaking truth that 1 John 3:1 brings before us. This is not just a religious verse for us; rather, it is a torch burning in the darkness of death that changes our entire identity forever.
Today, when I was reading this great truth, every pore of my being was filled with such an astonishing reverence that I cannot express in my limited words. Have you ever stopped your fast-paced life for a moment and considered what position the God who has woven this vastness of the sky with his fingers and gave birth to galaxies with just a whisper has placed us in? The great and most holy Creator, before whose light even the angels cover their faces with their wings, is calling us His 'children'! This is not some ordinary paper title of ours. This is the height of God's love that our limited human intelligence will never be able to measure. John is not just informing us of God's love here, but he is ordering us, as if with a divine roar, to "Look!" Stop, think, and feel this love. Silence the noise of this world for a moment and look at this love. This love is not an ordinary love but this love; it is 'Agape' love, which we have not earned and can never earn. This is a priceless and precious gift poured out from the Father's heart, in order to repay the price of which the Prince of Heaven Himself had to shed His holy blood on the altar of the Cross.
When this love descends into the depths of our soul, we realize for the first time that we are no longer wandering alone or helpless in this dark world. As it is written in Romans 8:15, We have not received a spirit of slavery, that we should fear again; But we have received the Spirit of adoption, through whom we can cry out, '' Abba, Father." Feel the closeness of this word "Abba" because it shows the security of a small child when he is in his father's lap, then no fear in the whole world can touch or scare him. Similarly, when God becomes our Father, we also cease to fear our last enemy, death, and it is as if our entire identity changes because we are no longer identified by our past failures, our past life, or the things of this world; Because now we are his children and have become the heirs of his kingdom. This identity is our wealth which no one can snatch from us. Psalm 103:13 assures us that just as a father has mercy on his children, so God always has mercy on his beloved children.
But remember, this royal identity is also accompanied by a difficult truth for every believer that makes us different in this world because the Word clearly says that this world will not recognize us. The reason for this is deeper because this world does not know the glory of the Father because when we receive new life as God's children, our behavior, our language and our purpose for living becomes completely different from the way of this world. We are now connected to that divine light, which is incompatible with the darkness of this world. Lord Jesus had already prepared us for this in John 15:18-19 that if the world hates us, then remember that it has first hated him and our heavenly Father. If today you feel isolated or a stranger in the crowd of this world, do not be upset because this feeling of isolation is proof that your roots are no longer in this mortal world, but in the heavenly life that will never end. You are no longer just a traveler on this earth, but a permanent and respected citizen of heaven.
Therefore, my dears, the world not recognizing us should not be a matter of shame for us, but a matter of spiritual honor. When people make fun of our faith or call our Christian life “crazy,” remember your Father's greatness and smile. Because this insult is like a “seal” for us, showing that we are following the difficult path of our elder Brother, Jesus Christ, who suffered the most humiliation in this world, so that we could be glorified. 1 Peter 2:9 further reminds us that we are not part of any ordinary crowd of people, but we are a chosen people and a special priesthood. For example, if a prince of a big kingdom goes out in ordinary clothes, people will not recognize him, but in his heart he knows who he is. Similarly, we too are to live with heavenly dignity and respect. We should not worry about what the world tells us; Our entire life must rest on the fact that the great King of the universe calls us his “beloved children.”
In conclusion, I want you to make this divine identity a part of your life because whenever despair begins to overtake you or when your own weaknesses make you feel like you are nothing, immediately turn to that beautiful and powerful promise of 1 John 3:1 as your shield. And remember, your identity is not by the dust that you are made of, but by the life that your Father has given you. Galatians 4:7 reminds us that "Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ." Having this heir fills us with hope that can withstand every storm of time. Rest in this great love today. Lift up your eyes with faith to your heavenly Father and say with full conviction, “Yes, I am a child of God.” It is not just a sentence, it is the truth that has the power to change your life and your character, and from which you will never be separated.
1 John 3:1 Prayer
O my heavenly Father, I have come before You this morning not as a petitioner, but as your own child. Father, when I think of how much you have loved me, my heart is filled with gratitude and wonder towards You. I thank You that you have adopted me in Your agape love and given me the right to be called Your child. O Father, I bow before You not just with my body and head but with my soul and accept with my whole heart this wonderful truth that I am Yours alone.
Father, when I look back at my old life, remembering all my weaknesses, my sins, and my wanderings, I realize that I was not worthy of Your love. Still, You did not reject me, but called me to You with love because You yourself are love and there cannot be hatred in the love. Father, You not only forgave me with love, but also gave me a place as Your own child in Your glorious family. This morning I give thanks to You and I say in a loud voice to Satan that I am no longer your a slave, but a child of the living and almighty God, and this identity is the greatest truth of my life.
O my Father, I confess today with faith that I am truly Your child and these are not just words, but this is my true identity in You. Father, You have given me new life and by your Spirit you have given me the right to call You "Abba Father". Give me the courage to live in this truth every day and never forget my identity and never return to that dark world.
Father, when this world does not understand me, when people make fun of me because of my faith or consider me different, then make me strong and remind me that this is not my weakness, but this is proof that I am Yours because when the world did not recognize You and Your only Son in human form, it is not surprising if this happens to me, just do not let me be afraid at that time, but keep me steadfast in Your love, so that I can stand with You in every situation. Make my life such that only Your love is visible in my thoughts, my words, and my actions. Change me every day by the power of Your Spirit, so that I may become like You, and fill my heart with Your gratitude and mercy so that the whole world may know that I am a child of the Creator of this world and He is my Father. Father, I pray this in the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Amen.
